This park was established to protect one of the last unspoiled coastal wetlands on the Atlantic Coast and to preserve historic and prehistoric sites within the area.

Turkey Creek Sanctuary Palm Bay.
Walk through sand pines, saw palmettos and live oaks that emerge from ancient sand dunes created 120,000 years ago on a 4,000--foot boardwalk. This is a major stopover for spring and fall migratory birds.
